Our Story
Cary has always felt to me like a close cousin to nearby Crystal Lake. A place you are so familiar with, it feels like family, but has its own unique spirit and style. Cozy is the word that comes to mind when I think of this township that affords closeness to Chicago and still all the comforts that come from outdoor space, the Fox River, and tight-knit neighborhoods.
When opening Healthy Paws Animal Hospital in 2010, my husband and I knew we wanted an animal hospital like no other. An unexpected, reliable, and supportive environment for our team, clients, and pets. Finding our location in Lake in the Hills, just a few minutes drive from Cary, gave us exactly that.
But what makes Healthy Paws Animal Hospital worth a little longer drive? Why should a Cary client consider passing other veterinarians to visit us? We think there is a real difference, and so do our clients. It is not uncommon for a patient to move, try an option closer to their new home, and then decide that having confidence and trust in their pet’s veterinary team is worth more than an extra ten minutes, or in some cases an hour’s drive. Knowing that their pet’s care is customized, not drive-through in nature, becomes more important than distance.
Many veterinary practices you pass are now corporately owned, which impacts everything from who they hire to the medicine they practice. At Healthy Paws Animal Hospital, we are privately owned, making decisions in real time that allow us to make an immediate impact on the care we provide.
Every aspect of our hospital, team, and the medical care we provide is treated with the attention to detail and time each pet deserves. Clients are escorted directly to an exam room with no scary lobby experience. Pets enjoy the distraction of floor-to-ceiling exam room windows while receiving care catered to their individual needs.
We recognize that your pet is an individual, your one and only. It is our job to get to know what makes them and you most comfortable, avoiding situations that cause undue stress. Your appointment is not based on time, but on whatever it takes to provide you, as a pet owner, with information and options. This is why transparency and education are our cornerstones. We love hearing clients say they left with all of their questions answered, and then some.
We welcome visitors. We love showing off our team and our hospital. We hope that others can see how veterinary medicine can be done in a whole new way.
